FAQ

Questions people ask

What is Tuung?

Tuung is a free dental referral and education site that connects you with local dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons. Tell us what you need and your ZIP code, request a free consultation, and you'll see the dentist we connect you with — often with a link to book directly.

Is the consultation really free?

Requesting a consultation through Tuung is free and there is no obligation. Each dentist sets their own fees for exams, X-rays and treatment, so ask the practice what is included before your visit.

How often should I get my teeth cleaned?

Most people see a dentist for a cleaning and checkup every six months, but your dentist may recommend more or less often based on your gums, your history and your risk of cavities.

Should I see a dentist, an orthodontist or an oral surgeon?

Start with a general dentist for cleanings, fillings, crowns and most everyday care; see an orthodontist for braces and aligners, and an oral surgeon for complex extractions, wisdom teeth and many implant surgeries. Your dentist will refer you to a specialist when you need one.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Severe tooth pain, a knocked-out or broken tooth, or a swollen, infected tooth needs a same-day dentist. Facial swelling with fever, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a serious injury to the face or jaw is a medical emergency — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Does Tuung give dental advice?

No. Tuung is educational and a directory — it is not dental or medical advice. Only a licensed dentist who has examined you can diagnose a problem or recommend treatment.

I'm a dentist — how do I receive patient referrals?

Join at tuung.com/join and list your practice for free, or hold an exclusive ZIP code: 1 specialty for $299/month, 3 specialties for $499/month, or every specialty for $999/month. Requests for your specialties in your ZIP come to your CRM back office, and patients see your profile and booking calendar right after they ask.

Are you a dentist, orthodontist or oral surgeon? Hold your ZIP code for the specialties you want — consultation requests come straight to your CRM.
